Water TestingHow to Test Your Home's Water Quality
Testing your water is the one step that should always come before buying any system. Here's what a real test looks for and why the tap matters.
A water test isn't a single number. Here's what we actually measure at your tap and why each one matters.

Water quality isn't a single score. It's a profile. A good test measures several things, because the right solution depends on which of them are present and at what level. Here's what we measure at your tap:
How much calcium and magnesium are in your water. The single most common issue in Central Valley homes — it drives scale, spots, and dry skin.
Disinfectants added by the city. They keep water safe in the pipes but can leave a taste and odor you may want to reduce at home.
Whether your water is acidic or alkaline. Out-of-range pH can affect taste and, in extreme cases, plumbing.
A broad measure of everything dissolved in your water. High TDS doesn't mean unsafe, but it tells us how much total dissolved content is there — useful for deciding if RO makes sense.
Iron causes orange stains. Other metals can come from older plumbing. We test for these when your water shows signs.
Each parameter points to a different solution. High hardness means a softener. Chlorine taste means a whole house filter. High TDS or drinking concerns may point to RO. The test connects the problem to the right system — that's the whole point.
